More January Drama

While dealing with sick people all month we've been also having to deal with other drama. This time with cars. We bought a new car to replace the van that I crashed last Oct. It was a long time in coming and even though it's not the van I wanted, it has a 3rd row so it separates my kids. It'll do for now. We've owned it now for 2 weeks and it has been our driveway for a total of about 3 days. The stupid thing broke 2 days after we bought it. So we took it back to the dealer. They said they had forgotten to put the dipstick back in it so they put it in and said it should be fine.

Two days later it broke again. Back to the dealer. Unfortunately they can't fix it because it's a Chrysler and they are a Ford dealership...so they sent it to a Chrysler dealership. We got it back about 3 days later. It worked for a whole 2 days. So we took it back to the dealership. Another 3 days later we got it back. That was this Mon. Tues. morning, it broke again. Back to the dealer again. Apparently there is something very wrong with the fuel system.

So this is what we learned from this. NEVER...EVER...buy American made cars. Our Dodge started breaking 2 weeks after we bought it although not to this extent. This car doesn't even run.

And by the way, since I know you all are going to ask, no, we can't return it and get a refund. Cars don't work that way. I looked it up. The Lemon Law is not as specific for Used cars. But if we get it back and it breaks again, you can bet I am going to be consulting with a lawyer to see what i can do.

Sick, Sick, Sick

January hasn't been good to us. One or more of us has been sick for the entire month. First it was Landan. The first week of school back he came home from school with a fever. Come to find out he had strep throat. About 3 days later Gavin spiked a fever. His turned out to be an eye/ear infection. Both of them started a course of antibiotics. A few days later I got the stomach flu. About 4 days later Kevin got the stomach flu. We have just barely gotten everyone done with antibiotics and healthy and Kylie now has an eye/ear infection. Poor baby has gunk constantly draining out of both eyes and her nose. These pictures don't really do it justice but her face is all red and she is completely miserable. So she is now on antibiotics too. Poor baby.

Hurff outfit

When my parents came back to America this summer we had a family reunion. My parents got each family shirts, a different color for each family. Well, they had found a cute outfit to fit our color (red) for Kylie in Saudi Arabia but had forgotten to bring it this summer. So my mom brought it for Christmas figuring we could at least see it even if she didn't fit into it anymore. Luckily, my children are very little so even though it was made for 0-3 months, she still fit into it. Thanks mom!

Christmas Crafts at Chiara's

Whenever we visit my sister in Houston she always has a craft project for the bigger boys to do. Since we mostly go during holidays it revolves around that theme. It gives the boys something to do besides running around shooting each other with light sabers and legos. And besides, she's a brilliant kindergarten teacher and she just can't help herself.

This year's Christmas project was a gingerbread house. It did take quite a lot of coaching to make sure the sugary goodness made it on the house and not in little mouths, but it turned out pretty good. It was on display for the duration of the holiday and then they actually ate it. GROSS, but then they are little boys.

Christmas Princess

When people found out I was having a girl suddenly they wanted to give me all their daughter's clothes and dresses. I had 2 Christmas dresses for Kylie and this one never got used. So I decided she at least needed some pictures of it. Although they are somewhat blurry because it's difficult getting her to stay still, she's too interested in the camera.

December Pictures

This is going to be a catch-up blog. December kind of got away from me. We had a lot going on. So here are some pictures just to show off my kiddos.

Kylie standing in her crib. This happened on the 13th. She now pulls herself on everything and she even cruises a little.
Landan is such a great big brother. Now that Kylie is bigger he can pick her up when she gets herself in trouble. She follows him around all over. It's very sweet.

Gavin reading his "Thomas" books. He loves to read his books just like his big brother.
