Gavin Slept through the Night!

Well, it has happened. Gavin slept through the night for the first time on Sat. He slept for 12 hours. Kevin had to wake him up Sun morning to feed him. Unfortunately I don't think that was necessarily a good thing. I think he's getting his first cold. He's been really congested today and sleeping a lot. He's still has lots of happy moments though. That's what I love most about him. He's such a happy boy all the time. And it's so easy to make him happy. Just swaddle him and cuddle him which I love to do. I just hope he gets better soon.

Preschool Love

I have finally met Jenna, Landan's lady love. I don't pick him up from daycare much but when I do I try to find out who she is. I didn't know that she was Monday, Wed, Fri so when Landan went to Tues./Thurs. they stopped seeing each other. But Landan didn't stop talking about her. I guess Jenna showed up today and they were inseparable according to the teacher. They spent all day holding hands. She's a very cute little girl. And when I picked him up, he informed me that he was going to marry Jenna very soon. I asked how soon and he replied, "in about 20 minutes". it was very cute.

Hard Workin' Men

Every six months I get a piece of my signing bonus from work. I just got it this Fri. Of course most of it is going to go to bills, but we decided to use a little of it to improve our yard. Kevin had been able to get some stones for a tree ring a little while ago. Unfortunately we couldn't afford many so for the last few months our tree ring has looked like this...

Yesterday we got some more stones and Kevin was able to finish this ring and start on the one for the other tree. We got it almost done but we are still a few stones short. The cutest part is that Landan asked if he could help. He helped carry the stones from the car to the yard, and he carried them to Kevin on the ground and he helped dig up the dirt before Kevin put the stones down. He was a great little worker. And he loved it. I was quite surprised. These were 9 lb. stones he was carrying. He also brought his "safety glasses" to wear. These are the 3D glasses from the Crayola 3D chalk Eppie gave him. He wears them everywhere. And he had to be just like Daddy wearing his safety glasses. It was really sweet. Quite the young man he's growing up to be.

Here is the finished tree ring. Landan was very proud of it. I think it looks really good.
Here's a picture of the two tree rings together. If you click on the picture you'll see that the other one isn't quite finished. We need about 10 more stones or so. Gavin and I helped by sitting on the chairs in the background and getting the boys water and giving our advice.

Guess Who?

Okay, so Gavin started out looking really different from Landan, but he now looks just like him. Here is a picture of Landan and Gavin at two months. Guess which one is which. Uncanny huh?

(Okay obviously they are from two different cameras, but they do look a lot a like.)

Gavin's Blessing Day

Gavin was blessed on Sun. July 6th. He was so good, he didn't cry at all. He's such a sweet baby. He's happy most of the time and he coos and smiles a lot. We're so glad to have him in our family. We were down in Houston that weekend so more of my family was able to come. Unfortunately Kevin's parents weren't able to make it. We sure missed them. It was a very special day.

The men who were in the circle: Mike, Daddy, Kenny, and Papa

The whole family that was able to attend.

Gavin and Daddy and the beautiful blanket Eppie made for the occasion.

Isn't he sweet.

Gavin and Avery.

Happy 1st Avery!

On Saturday (the 5th) we had a luau for Avery's 1st birthday. It was really nice. and she was so cute.

Even Gavin go all dressed up for the occasion.
We finally got Landan in the water. We threw him in and told him he had to swim out. When he realized he wasn't going to drown, we couldn't get him out.

MMMMMMM, watermelon. So summery!

Papa grilling chicken and shrimp kabobs. They were so good.

We had a smoking volocano cake for Avery and a beach cake for her Aunt Nikki (it was Nikki's birthday that day, Avery's was earlier that week). They were very impressive.

Avery was very dainty when it came to eating her cake. She only got a couple of bites in before it fell on the ground.

4th of July

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!

We spent last weekend down in Houston. It was kind of a big weekend, lots going on. We spent the 4th taking Landan to see the movie Wall-E with his cousins Kenny and Nathan. It was really cute. Landan loved it. They spent the rest of the weekend playing "Save Wall-E". It was really cute. Many more pictures to follow so stay tuned.

Eppie with Gavin and Avery at our cookout that night at my sister, Chiara's house. We had hotdogs and smore's. It was fun.

Gavin hung out in his carseat so he could stay away from the smoke. He was a very well behaved and happy baby.

Gavin, 7 weeks

Sorry about the lack of recent posts. I pretty much work every other day so on the days I have off I have to clean and spend time with Gavin, and get things ready for the next day. I just worked 3 days in a row starting on Sun. so I haven't gotten much time to myself. Anyway, here are some pictures of Gavin at 7 weeks old. I almost got him smiling in the last picture. It's so hard to do because he does it so fast. I'm also trying to catch him cooing. I does it a lot but it's hard to get him to do it on cue. I'll definately post it if I do. But for now, enjoy the pictures.
