All I Want for Christmas...

...is my two front teeth!!

Landan just had some major dental surgery done. He had a lot of work to be done so we did it under general anesthesia so that it could all be done at once.  He had a bunch of cavities filled.  He had a molar that was infected so it had to be removed.  Then the one next to it also had an infection but it was smaller so they just did a root canal but they ended up just having to fill it, not put a crown on it.  Then they had to pull his two front teeth.  His adult teeth should have come in by now but they haven't even budged.  I guess there is an extra point on the backs of his adult teeth so it's making it hard for them to come in.  So they pulled the baby teeth in the hopes that that will encourage the adult teeth to come down.  If they don't, he may need orthodontia to help them come in.  So for now he's a bit toothless.  So since they pulled a baby molar, he is going to need a spacer in his mouth to keep the opening for when his adult molar comes in when he's around twelve.  So we have to back in two weeks to get that done.  In the meantime, he just looks really cute with his two front teeth missing.

Sitting pretty

Lexie 6 months

At six months Lexie is learning to sit unsupported and to army crawl.  She is a busy little thing, always trying to grab things to explore them.  She still wakes up at least twice a night to nurse which makes mommy tired but I'm glad she still likes it so much.  It's nice to have some bonding time.  She is so excited when I come home from work.  Her whole face lights up and she gets upset if I don't say hello right way.  She immediately wants to nurse when I pick her up because she missed me so much.  It's adorable.

Her first feeding.  She's not learning to eat very well. We've been at it for almost 3 weeks and she's not getting it. Almost all of her food ends up on her bib.  She doesn't seem to know how to get the food from the front of her mouth to the back.  She gets very frustrated with the whole process quickly so she doesn't actually eat much, usually just one swallow and that's it.  But we're working on it.  Right now she's just content to nurse all the time.

Lexie 5 months

I know this is really behind ut I wanted to journal all of Lexie's ages.  At 5 months Lexie was sitting supported.  She is a delight. She is the calmest baby ever.  She hardly ever cries unless she is tired.  She still liked to be swaddled when she falls asleep. I had to use her swaddler wrapped around her legs to get her to settle down.  She still loves to just look around and observe things and she grabs everything.  She's kind of serious but she smiles a lot at her family.

Catch Up Post

Our new cub scout.

Kylie decided to join Gavin in the bathtub.
Our little soccer star.  Ironically, Gavin's coach is Landan's teacher's husband.  So far he's not really getting the game yet.  He runs around the ball but never goes in to get it and then gets upset when he doesn't get to kick it.  We're working on it.  Maybe he'll get it next time.  And yes, the uniforms are really big.  I have no idea why but all the little kids are falling out of them.

 Lexie being cute.

Lexie loves hanging out with her big brother.

 Playing together.

Family Fun Day

We had our first chilly day of the fall.  It's not going to stay, but we're enjoying it while it's here.  There was a little festival at a shoppimg center in Pflugerville which is the city right next to where we live so we decided to go check it out.  It was a bunch of booths from businesses around the area so of course everyone was giving out stuff.  The kids loved it, they got all kinds of little trinkets and things.

There was an army helicopter for the kids to explore.
And a pink fire truck that was supporting breast cancer awareness.

At the Sport Clips booth they were coloring your hair with a temporary spray stuff .  Landan and Kylie got it done.

Then at Home Depot they were doing a kids workshop and they were handing out kits to make a wooden firetruck.  The kids loved it.

Then we went to a brand new mexican restaurant for lunch. There was this statue there that you can see below.  When Kylie saw it she exclaimed, "Look, it's naked!  It's a naked mommy!"  Too funny.
Then we went to one of my favorite clothing stores so I could get some new winter clothes for myself with some money I got for my birthday.  Kylie has just recently become potty trained (as in last week)  So we were at the store and she suddenly turns to Kevin and says, "I pooping."  Not I need to go potty or I need to poop, she's already doing it.  So he runs her to the bathroom but they missed and he  had to clean her up.  I thought it was funny, he didn't.  I guess we're still working on it.
