HURFF Day 3- Sea World

Sea World is always a lot of fun. What made it better this year was that they have added this new "Sesame Street Bay of Play" which is this great splash park with lots of kiddie rides. It was a great place to park the kids so the adults could go out in turns and do the bigger rides.

Chlorine + no nap = tired kids.

HURFF Part 2

On Day 2 the ladies went to get pedicures in the morning and the gentlemen went golfing in the afternoon. The kiddos got to spend some quality time together at the house all day.

This is Kylie and Emmet. Kylie is 13 mo old. Emmet is 3 mo. old. Sadly, they weigh the same amount Even though Kylie looks bigger because she is longer. They both weigh about 16 lbs in this picture.

Feeding frenzy. It was quite the sight trying to feed 10 kids all at once. There were 12 kids but 2 were babies. They were ages: 8-6-6-4-3-2-2-2-2-13mo.

This is Emmet and Brandon. They are the Almost Twins. Their daddy's are twins and these two were born 6 days apart. Pretty cool huh?

HURFF Part 1

I know, I am way behind. So this is going to be a series of catch-up posts. This year in June we had our family reunion in Seguin which is just east of New Braunfels, Texas. We stayed in a vacation home on some river that somehow wasn't effected by the drought. We got there on Father's Day. This is the bigger kids lining up on the couch getting ready to sing "I'm so glad when Daddy comes home" to all the Daddy's.

Hailey, I love this girl's smile. She gets so tickled about things and it shows all over her face. She is such a delight to watch.

James

And we finished off the evening taking Landan to the ER. He was jumping on the bed and flopped down and didn't know there was a footboard (the comforter was covering it) and hit his head a split it open. It was really deep so we rushed him to the local ER. Their service was terrible. The desk person was really nice but the NNP we saw was awful. She decided to not stitch it but to glue it back together with this stuff called Dermabond. It's supposed to be less traumatic then stitches. Unfortunately for Landan it wasn't. She had to put 3 layers on because it was so deep and every time she did he would scream that it was burning him. All she could do was say ,"Huh, that's weird. That's never happened before." Here he is screaming and crying and she just stood there. I was so annoyed. And because he was thrashing around because it hurt, they got some gauze glued to his head. You can see it on the left of the cut. Afterward there wasn't much in the way of discharge instructions like how to take care of it and is it okay for him to go to sleep since he did hit his head.

They said this stuff was supposed to fall off by itself in 5-10 days. It didn't. We had to peel it off slowly and it took a whole month. So we got him home and got him into bed and that was Day #1.
