Landan's Baptism

On Sept 1st our Landan got baptized.
This is him with his friend Ajia who lives down the street.

Our stake does group baptisms so all the kids that turn 8 during the month get baptized all together on the first weekend of the next month. We are so proud of Landan on choosing to take this first step towards returning to our Heavenly Father.  I was worried he'd have trouble putting his head under (he hates water in his face) but he did great.

After-nap Peacock Hair

First Day of 3rd Grade!!

Landan's doing really well so far.  I had a talk with his teachers and so far, so good. They both say he's doing fantastic.  Let's hope that continues.

Big Shoes to Fill

Kylie is my little accessorizor.  She loves shoes.

Phillip's blessing

A couple weeks ago we went to San Antonio to witness the blessing of our new nephew/cousin Phillip.  He is such a cutie.  We got to stay in a hotel which the kids loved, and spend some time with family.  Welcome to the family Phillip!

The kids found a a place (behind the podium) to play hide and seek while we were waiting for the bishop.

We had a great time playing with our cousins.  We love visiting family!

Happy Birthday Landan!

We kept Landan's birthday pretty lowkey this year because we are planning a party in Sept with his friends.  First we started out with the traditional panCAKES for breakfast.

Then he chose Mimi Biscuits for dinner.  For those that don't know, these are biscuits my grandma made when I was a kid.  You eat them with butter mixed with Cane Syrup and dip your biscuit in it.  It's really good and really sugary.

Then he had an ice cream cake from Baskin Robbins.  It has cute little ice cream cones on it.

Present time!  He got a new church bag (which I made from a tutorial online) to put all his quiet activities in, and some scriptures, and a Nintendo DS with 2 games.  He was pretty excited about that part.

I can't believe my first little baby is 8 yrs old.  He's a big kid now, not a little kid.  He's such a sweetheart. He's so helpful around the house.  He's always looking for things to help with.  He loves taking care of his sisters, still working on getting along with his brother.  He's doing so well in school.  He loves to read which I am so excited about.  And he's good at math and science too.  He LOVES TV and video games and he loves playing imaginary games too.  He makes new friends so easily he's got tons of them at school because he accepts everyone just as they are.  Big or small he'll be friends with anyone.
