Christmas Crafts at Chiara's

Whenever we visit my sister in Houston she always has a craft project for the bigger boys to do. Since we mostly go during holidays it revolves around that theme. It gives the boys something to do besides running around shooting each other with light sabers and legos. And besides, she's a brilliant kindergarten teacher and she just can't help herself.

This year's Christmas project was a gingerbread house. It did take quite a lot of coaching to make sure the sugary goodness made it on the house and not in little mouths, but it turned out pretty good. It was on display for the duration of the holiday and then they actually ate it. GROSS, but then they are little boys.

Christmas Princess

When people found out I was having a girl suddenly they wanted to give me all their daughter's clothes and dresses. I had 2 Christmas dresses for Kylie and this one never got used. So I decided she at least needed some pictures of it. Although they are somewhat blurry because it's difficult getting her to stay still, she's too interested in the camera.

December Pictures

This is going to be a catch-up blog. December kind of got away from me. We had a lot going on. So here are some pictures just to show off my kiddos.

Kylie standing in her crib. This happened on the 13th. She now pulls herself on everything and she even cruises a little.

Landan is such a great big brother. Now that Kylie is bigger he can pick her up when she gets herself in trouble. She follows him around all over. It's very sweet.

Gavin reading his "Thomas" books. He loves to read his books just like his big brother.

Big Speakers

I had another meeting with Landan's teacher and administration last Fri. which went nowhere, again. Basically they don't want to do anything to help Landan because academically he's doing great even though his behavior is a problem. Afterwards I was talking to his teacher alone and she was telling me how well Landan is doing academically. She said he's really smart and he says the funniest things.

I guess they were learning about alliterations the other day and so she was having the kids think of words that start with C. Most of the kids were saying things like cat...car...candy, that sort of thing. Landan raises his hand and says "Curriculum."

On another note, Gavin is getting quite the vocabulary too. Last night we were coming home from picking me up at work and Gavin looks at Landan and as clear as day says, "Don't talk to me like that little man." He's also learning how to sing his ABC's and Twinkle Twinkle.

Merry Christmas from the Thompsons

I'm 7 months old!

Kylie turned 7 mo. on Tues. She is now crawling on her knees, although very slowly. She is so smart. When she looks at toys she studies them. So far, she's been smart enough to stay away from the tree. She likes her solid food, she's eaten everything I've fed her so far. I think she's gaining now that she's on solids but not very fast. I guess she's somewhere close to 13 lbs now. She can pull herself up to her feet on our small trampoline in our living room. She can't quite sit on her own unsupported yet, but she's close. She follows Mommy around everywhere. She still hates her carseat but loves to be carried in the Mai Tai. She likes her exersaucer and thinks her brothers are really funny. And that's my Smiley Kylie!

Thanksgiving

We had a lovely Thanksgiving at my sister's house in Houston.
