Pooh baby!
This is my little Pooh baby. It got a little chillier here last week so I got all excited and got out Gavin's 3-6 mo. winter clothes. Most of them are old ones of Landan's. This is one outfit Landan didn't wear much. I absolutely LOVE fall. I loved the beginning of school, I love Halloween and Thanksgiving and Christmas. I love the chill in the air and getting to take out your sweatshirts. I love the leaves changing colors and raking them up to jump in them. It's really my favorite time of year. Unfortunately I no longer live in a place that has a real fall so I got excited about the short lived cooler weather we had. I put Gavin in this little pooh outfit. The hat has pooh on it and so do his socks. It was so cute. Now he's back to wearing onsies as it's back to 90 degrees but it was fun while it lasted.
Huricane evacuees
I know this is really late but I have been meaning to blog this for awhile and never got around to it. Last weekend we had some surprise visitors. Both my sister and my parents live south of Houston so in lieu of Hurricane Ike they had to evacuate so they came to Austin. My parents were luckily in Germany at the time so they were safe already. Although we were worried about what would happen in their absence, it was still nice to see my sister and her family. We were glad they were able to visit.

Landan and his cousin Kenny had tons of fun playing together. Landan is just starting to get into Star Wars and Transformers and things that Kenny is obsessed with. (Kenny is 2 years older)

My sister spent the time trying to stay off her feet. She's was 19 weeks pregnant and a high risk pregnancy. The stress of the hurricane wasn't really good for her but what are you going to do. Luckily both my parents and my sister didn't get flooded. My sister's house needs a new roof and they're backyard is a disaster but that's all. My parents just lost some landscaping. They were both pretty lucky. They got their power back on Tues. evening.
Gavin had lots of fun with his Uncle Kenny.

I have been trying to get a video of Gavin giggling for a long time. It is so funny. He gets such a kick out of the sounds Bah and Boo and Mah. Enjoy the vidoes!

Dr. visits
Friday was a big day for my boys. Landan had his 4 yr old checkup and Gavin had his 4 mo. old checkup all in the same day. They both got weighed and measured, Landan got his eyes and hearing checked, Landan spent 3/4 of the time running around in his underwear, and they both got their shots today. It was quite the visit. Here are the stats:
Landan: Age-4 years old
Weight- 35 pounds
Height- 40 inches
Eyes- passed
Ears- passed
Prognosis- Very healthy little boy. Needs a follow-up with a cardiologist to have a routine check up of his aortic valve
Gavin: Age- 4 mo. old
Weight- 12 lbs, 13 oz (30th %)
Length- 24 1/2 in (20th %)
Head- 43 cm (75th %)
Prognosis- Growing well. Reaching all milestones properly. If he continues to spit up constantly the doctor wants to put him on Zantac. Cutest baby he's ever seen in his office.

Knighthood
While playing with his sword tonight, Landan said:
"Mommy. Kneel down so I can dub you."
So I dutifully got off the computer and knelt down on one knee and he proceeded to touch each of my shoulders with his sword and said...
"I dub thee Sir Mommy the Great. Get up."
When I got up he handed me his sword and said...
"Fight well."
No idea where he got this from but it was really cute.
