Big Brother

I was a little worried about how Landan would adjust to having a baby around. But I am pleasantly surprised to see that he's taking it very well. It did take some adjusting and he lashed out at me at first, but he's been absolutely wonderful to Gavin. He loves him. He holds him and says hi to him and talks to him and kisses his head all the time. And he's been very helpful getting things for me. He's a really great retriever. It's kind of nice having an older child who can do things for you. He's so helpful he tried to pick Gavin up the other day. I was in the kitchen and I had Gavin propped on the Boppy pillow and he was fussing because no one was holding him. So Landan, as he usually does, went over and started talking to him. The next thing I know Gavin stopped crying. I looked over and Landan had him draped over his arm. He had tried to pick him up to calm him but he's not coordinated enough to hold his head up. It was a really sweet gesture but it did freak me out a little. We had to have a discussion about not picking up the baby unless a grownup was around.

I had put Gavin down for some tummy time and he wasn't too fond of it so Landan went to keep him company.
