This is our little sports fan. He really likes to watch football and basketball with his Daddy. He dressed himself today from head to toe. Notice the ongoing sports theme including the shoes with no socks. He's growing so fast that we had to get him new shoes which he calls his running shoes. He loves them. He's always saying, "Last year I could run 3 speed but now I can run 4 speed because I'm 4." He's always running around our house and he loves to play soccer and baseball outside. He refuses to use the tee and insists you have to throw it to him. And he's actually good at hitting it when you pitch the baseball to him. What's really funny is when I was pregnant with him I was really into sports themed clothes and bedding and other sports baby stuff. Maybe I was just inspired. I'm really into animals and jungle themed stuff with Gavin. I'm curious to see what he'll be in to.

Sleepy Baby
Gavin is such an easy baby. He has the easiest sleep routine. After he's been awake for a few hours he starts to get a little fussy. At this point all you have to do is wrap him up, give him his binkie and he immediately falls asleep. I usually walk him around for about 3-4 minutes and he's asleep. It used to take me about 30 minutes to get Landan to sleep but he didn't like to be swaddled. Gavin still loves it. Isn't he sweet?

Go Landan! It's your birthday!
We started out at a park because my house isn't big enough to hold all those people. We had hotdogs and chips. I forgot the grapes I was going to bring. Landan wanted a Wall-E party but they didn't have a Wall-E kit at the store so we had a Lightening McQueen party instead. Unfortunately it was about 100 degrees at the park so the Mildensteins graciously offered to let us use their house for the conclusion of the party.
Landan got all kinds of great stuff, mostly stuff that had to do with cars but he also got a sword and shield from "Prince Caspian" and Legos from Eppie and Papa and a huge thing of bubbles and Candyland. HE was very excited about all of his presents.
We rounded off the evening with some Lightening Mcqueen cupcake cake. It was a great day.

Happy Birthday Landan!
Thurs. was Landan's 4th birthday. He is getting to be such a big boy. There are so many things about him that I love.
He's so friendly. He loves everyone. As soon as he sees people they are automatically his best friend. He's got lots of friends from daycare and from church. He's a great hugger. He's just so sweet and gives so much love. I hope he's always to willing to accept people and be friends with everyone.
He's so curious. Sometimes this can get him in trouble, but I love how he explores everything around him. He's so active and inventive. He's always running around our house playing some game or another. And he teaches himself things. I'm always amazed at what he knows. Every day he shows me something he's learned that I didn't know. He can recite songs he's heard on the radio, he's learned things from daycare like writing all his letters.
He's is the most helpful child I have ever met. He's always willing to go and get things for me or put things away or clean or help his Daddy outside. He loves helping out around the house and I love that. He's great with his little brother. I've already got him watching Gavin while I"m busy doing something else. He's always telling me how much he loves his brother. It's so sweet. I'm not sure how long tis will last but I hope it's a long time.
There are many more things I love about him. I can't wait to see what he's going to be like when he grows up. But until then, I'm enjoying every minute with him.
We love you Landan!

Busy weekend
WE had a busy weekend this last weekend. To start with, I finally was able to break out my sewing machine. I've had it for 2 years now but had neither the time nor the space to get it out and use it. Well, Landan has managed to lose his original blankie he got as a baby and 6 others he got from Eppie to replace the original one. So I took him to the fabric store to pick out a new one and this is what we came up with.
I'm pretty proud of how they turned out. Thanks to Grandma for the sewing machine. I hope it gets a lot more use.
This is what Kevin did. He got a few more blocks and finished the tree rings in our front yard. With Landan's help of course. It looks much better now that they are both complete.
Gavin has been very busy. He learned how to grasp things with his hands and bring them to his mouth. He does best with cloth and binkies. Here he is with his blankie.
He's working on trying to flip over. If you look close he's got his leg up. That's as far as he's gotten so far.
He's also managed to pick his head up while lying on his tummy. Very smart boy he is.
And last but not least, Landan has been working on his drumming skills so that he can form a band some day. What do you think?
