We have been so blessed lately with some much needed kindness from our neighbors and friends. I don't want to leave anything out so I"m going to write this in two parts.
We were first blessed by our neighbor, Craig. He's a bachelor that lives next door to us. We had gotten a notice a couple of weeks ago from our HOA saying that we needed to mow our lawn or get a fine. It was getting pretty unruly and some of the weeds were almost as tall as Landan. But as I've stated before, we couldn't afford a lawn mower right now. We were waiting for our tax return to get one and looking on craigslist to find a cheap one but then our car broke down and now we have to put about $800 aside to fix it. We were wondering what we were going to do when Kevin was talking to our neighbor about a week ago. He had just come home from mowing his mother's lawn and was about to do his own. He offered to do ours while he was at it. He not only mowed...he edged and weeded the entire thing, including the back.
I came home from work that night to a beautiful lawn with no weeds. I couldn't believe he would spend that much time on a complete stranger. We've said hi once in awhile but we've never really talked to him. Neither of us is home much. It may not seem like much, but it seemed like it to us.
PS. We did manage to get a lawn mower. Craig told us of one that was on sale and we were able to afford it with our tax return. Kevin plans on using it tomorrow. He's very excited. This picture is from today so the weeds are back but it looked a lot better when it was mowed the first time.

Your house looks so cute! Our yard got out of control last year when Tom was working ridiculous hours at Pinnacle and we came to the conclusion that we had neither the energy nor desire to spend what little time we were not at work mowing the lawn. We finally hired somebody to do it. Best money we ever spent!
