San Antonio Zoo

A couple weeks ago we went to the San Antonio Zoo. We started out the day not seeing anything because all the animals were hiding in caves. We just looked at a bunch of grass. But eventually we saw some animals. Landan loved seeing all the animals and kept saying things like, "That's Pumbaa from Lion King!" and "That's Bagheera from Jungle Book!" Every animal was from some movie. It was really funny.

Gavin liked it okay, but he was mostly stuck in the stroller. His favorite part was when it rained. We had just finished the lunch we had brought and the clouds rolled in. It started to rain. And then it rained harder and harder. Landan...being Landan...climbed into the stroller and pulled the top as far over him as possible so his head wouldn't get wet. He hates to have water on his head. Gavin, who I was holding at the time, was clapping his hands and laughing. He thought it was great fun getting rained on. He sure loves the water. Whenever I turn the bathtub on he's there in a flash trying to climb in. Unfortunately, the rain turned cold and being all wet made Gavin get cold too. We went to all the gift shops and squeezed through all the people trying to wait out the storm asking if they sold towels or blankets. They didn't. But one really nice guy with some kids of his own gave Gavin a shirt that he had brought for his child. It was a 4T so it covered him really well. I was so impressed that someone would give up a shirt to a perfect stranger to help him out. Kind of restores your faith in the human race does't it.

Anyway, when we got to the car we were all soaking wet. Gavin didn't have any dry clothes so we covered him in a shirt of Kevin's that we had in the car. He still thought everything was funny. We ended up stopping at a Wal-mart to get some blankets because we were cold in the car.
