ECI

So, last Wed. the SPL fromECI (speech language pathologist from Early Childhood Intervention) came to our house to screen Gavin. She just asked some questions to see if he needed furthur evaluation. She got to see his full range of speaking abilities while she was there. He was really good for her and even imitated something he's never said before. She decided he does need furthur evaluation for two reasons: he doesn't use actual words and he doesn't say certain sounds like ma or ba or pa like he should be. All the sounds he makes are in the back of his throat or his tongue. He's got di di di down and ga ga ga but not much else. So he's going to get his hearing evaluated to see if he can hear all the sounds right and also get a full evaluation to see if he qualifies for ECI. I'll keep you posted.

Hey Marissa!

I hope I'm not intruding on your blog but I found your brothers on facebook and looked at their blogs which lead me to yours and Chiara's blogs.

Anyway, your kids are adorable! I was really surprised to see your blogs about your kid's speech problems. My oldest had some pretty severe problems and had to have some special schooling to help. My husband ended up being really interested in it and just got his Master's in Speech Pathology. I wish we lived closer. I know Jake would help you in whatever you needed. But if you do think of something let us know.

Anyway, glad to see your well.
