Back to Baking

I've never been much of a cook. I can follow a recipe and make a decent meal but I'm not a big fan and I"m not that great. I can't invent anything at all. But I really like to bake. Since I've been so sick lately I haven't done much of anything (housework, laundry, cooking, etc.) The doctor just put me on a new acid reflux medication and I'm feeling much better now. I suddenly got this wild craving for ginger molasses cookies because I saw some at a store. So I decided to make some tonight. They are SO good! They're nice and soft and chewy. I'm not a bad baker but I"ve never made anything that turned out absolutely perfect like these did. I"m quite proud of myself. So proud I rewared myself with 6 cookies. I'd eat more but it's time for bed.

Don't they look divine?

Now I just have to figure out how to store them so they stay soft and don't get hard. Any suggestions?

They do look good. Maybe try plastic bags with as much air removed as possible.

The best way to store them so they dont get hard is to give them to me to keep safe in my belly!

Whatever you put them, put in a slice of bread. Michael, Andie's hubby taught me that trick and it really works. Now you can't leave them in the cookie jar FOREVER, but those cookies look like they might make it a day at my home!! If your family doesn't like the heel of the loaf of bread, this is a good use for it.

Ah Ha! I was going to leave the bread slice comment but I see my Mom beat me to it. So I shall give the idea a second vote. It works well at our house and keeps things fresh for a few days longer.
